ok, i've been watching some driving videos where people engage and release the clutch pedal by using their leg only and never touching the floorboard. i've been trying this off and on for the past few weeks, and i can not figure out how in the hell it's possible to get a smooth release by doing this during normal day to day driving. maybe it's easier on lower horsepower cars with soft clutches.

since i can not get a smooth release without using the whole leg method, here's what i've been doing as far as my shifting. it works out where i'm not bucking around like a manual noob during every upshift. here's what i've been doing.

--pressing in the clutch pedal - i use my leg to press the clutch to the floor, my foot never touches the floorbaord during this step.

--releasing the clutch pedal after completing the up(down)shift - ok, kind of hard to describe the exact steps , but here it goes. i will start to release with my leg, then roll out and pivot off the very back of my heel before i get to the engagement point to control the smoothness of the release.

could you all tell me if there is any harm in doing this?
