well, i wouldn't call it healthy. it's healthier, but nicotine is still a drug with its own adverse effects; it's similar to (but more potent than) caffeine in that both are stimulants, vasoconstrictors, and addictive. but in isolation away from the load other chemicals and carcinogens in cigarette smoke, it's not dramatically worse than a can of caffeinated soda.

i will probably reduce the dosage slowly once i start mixing my own liquids, get myself down to about normal levels (8-10mg/ml; i'm at 18 right now) and then see from there.

yeah i know about blowing out the primer, it's not that, it worked fine for over a day then i started getting dramas with it, it's been narrowed down to the fibre glass wicking material unevenly covering the nickel mesh, causing hot spots and burning away the mesh, even if you get rid of the primer and keep the wick and bridge wet. my bad one, if you take off the filter and hold down the battery button for even a second it produces an awful smelling thick white putrid smoke that's obviously not right.

also it's not just the tornado but lots of joye based atties, just be careful.
sounds like some of the wick is caught under or around the element or something. it's possible to take a bent paperclip or something similar and get underneath there and just kind of comb up the wick and see if that helps. or just buy another atty perhaps; they're relatively cheap.

it can sometimes feel like drinking too much coffee.

one thing i have noticed though since the switch, it's far easier to go without vaping for a few hours than i used to find going without a cigarette, i don't think nicotine is the only addictive chemical in cigarette,s,.i don't crave vaping as much.
cigarettes also contain a small amount of dopamine, an maoi (one of a number of antidepressant chemicals) which, used in conjunction with nicotine, prolongs the pleasure of smoking and itself creates a psychoactive dependence. some who are sensitive to this have complained of withdrawal effects even as they were getting a proper dose of nicotine.

it seems as though there aren't many who even notice, so most people wouldn't have a problem making the switch. those who do tend to wean themselves off of cigarettes over days or weeks in order to reduce the withdrwawal symptoms from the maoi.

the day you can toss it and release yourself from the emotional attachment contained in that pack will probably be the day you really quit.
frankly i don't really have an emotional attachment to them. i could throw them out without a second thought. mostly they're there as proof that i don't need them; i suppose it's perhaps a point of pride and mastery over the demon weed that had me hooked for 21 years -- which i guess is kind of emotional. but nothing's preventing me from tossing them ... but then nothing is encouraging me either. so they sit there.
