    absolutely. everything i've read about them -- which is quite a bit at this point -- suggests nothing but good things; they have the same or similar throat hit to cigarettes, very similar flavouring, and give virtually the same experience as smoking a cigarette. except for that whole sucking on a metal pipe and pressing a button to generate vapor thing. (you can get automatic batteries, but they apparently don't work quite as well as the manual e-cigs.) but i don't forsee any problems getting used to that. plus, i read plenty of accounts of people who switched getting many of the benefits of quitting altogether without having to go through the withdrawal of cold turkey. you've still got the nicotine to contend with (which mainly constricts blood vessels) but none of the other crap. plus, you can quit much easier with these, as you can scale down your nicotine levels very nicely, eventually settling on no nicotine liquids while still satisfying the oral fixation in the act of smoking itself -- which is arguably harder to quit than the nicotine addiction itself.

    i'll find out as soon as i get home though. i'm really looking forward to it.

    i'll admit, i'm going to feel weird for the first while puffing on these things in public, and the term "vaping" (the term for the act of puffing on these things) just sounds strange, but again, i'll get used to it. the benefits far outweigh the possible social embarrassment you might experience -- and you might score some converts once you explain what they are and why they're better than cigarettes.

    we had a good run, you and i. and by "good" i mean "progressively worse". it started out fine -- that whole honeymoon period, but then you decreased my lung capacity, stole my energy, gave me smoker's cough, stained my walls, made me a social leper, and just generally made my life worse. we've been together 21 years, tobacco, but now it's time to part ways. i'd say i'm sorry, but i'd be lying. i'm not sorry, not one bit. i'm glad to see you go. i have exactly enough of you left to last me until i get home from work today. after my last stick, something new will be awaiting me at home.

    she's called e-cigarette, and she's so absolutely digital. she's got a battery, a vaporizer, and liquid-filled cartridge containing mostly water with some flavoring, food-grade propylene glycol, and nicotine. no tar, no smell, no carbon monoxide or smoke. simple, uncomplicated, unlike you, tobacco, with your tar and your burning leaf shreds steeped in some thousand-or-so chemicals. too much soul-crushing baggage, tobacco. not like the e-cig's simplicity. she's got everything i need and nothing i don't, and she tastes and feels just like you. better, even, especially once i get whatever sense of taste back that you took from me. sure, she's a little higher maintenance; she needs to be charged once a day, i have to top her up when she runs out of steam, and i have to clean her vaporizer weekly, maybe change them every few months, but she still costs a lot less than you do, and it's a small price to pay for what i get in return.

    so, goodbye, tobacco. you're a cancerous dinosaur. rot in hell. i'll forget you ever existed by tomorrow.

    yeah -- actually, blucigs is what got me interested in this, but being that i'm in canada they can't ship here. (can't ship nicotine across the border.) i believe their kits are based on the very common joye 510 series of ecigs, so parts (carts, atomizers/cartomizers, batteries, etc.) are very easy to find. but there are a crapton of other vendors in the us and canada that handle various types as well.

    the one i ordered that just arrived today is the joye ego kit, which is basically the same 510 (same parts) but with a larger 650mah battery (the regular 510s have 160mha) so i can vape all day (or longer) on a single charge. apparently there are also various mods you can get for models, like larger or modded cartridges, low resistance vaporizers, battery adapters (you can get monster 900mah batteries and higher, but they're heavier and much larger), and so on. i was surprised by how deeply you can get into the vaping community with the mods and stuff.

    the liquids you can get, too -- jebus, there are dozens of flavours from known brand name cigarette flavours to exotic stuff like various types of booze, liquors, fruits, ice creams, pastries, etc. i'll probably stick to ordinary tobacco flavors myself.

    hmm seems weird seeing a thread for these here but they really do work i work a ten hour nightshift and a new rule came out about 8 months ago which basicly means we couldn't leave to smoke i bought one of the mega titans from totally wicked as a possible way of keeping me sane during these ten hours.

    it was intended to only help me survive work yet i haven't smoked a single real cigarette since the day it arrived. it took me completely by suprise to be honest i thought i'd be going insane they work brilliantly.

    after a month or so you start to get your sense of taste and fitness back even if you are still taking nicotine i think these are one of the best health inventions ever made.

    i've read a lot of propaganda about them i presume that's probably being paid for by big tobacco and other companys making money from patches etc but i can honestly say hand on heart these e-cigs have probably saved my life.

    was watching the news, they are trying to get a law approved to allow them put vivid images of deaths, sickness, etc caused from smoking onto the pack of cigs. all i can think is this will not help at all. and all its gonna do is make some grandma upset when you go to grab a cig out of your pack and she sees it..
